Kaizer Chiefs snap up Zimbabwean defender – report

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly signed Zimbabwean defender Teenage Hadebe.

According to the website newsday.co.zw, the 22-year-old is making his way to South Africa via Harare, and will join up with his new Amakhosi teammates for pre-season training.

“I am leaving tomorrow (today), but today (yesterday), I am travelling to Harare to meet my manager (Gibson Mahachi) before I depart for South Africa from there,” he said in a report on the website on Tuesday.

Lifa Ncube the chairman of Hadebe’s former club Chicken Inn told the same website – “I am not sure exactly when he is going to South Africa, but he will soon be joining his new club. Hadebe signed for Kaizer Chiefs last year when he went for trials. He is no longer our player.”

Hadebe, who also had a trial at Ajax Cape Town a couple of years ago, tried out at Chiefs at the start of last season, before returning to Zimbabwe. Now however, it appears a deal has been struck, though the transfer has yet to be officially announced by Kaizer Chiefs.
