Khenyeza parts ways with Maritzburg

According to a statement from the club, he took it upon himself to leave the club.

Mabhuti Khenyeza asked to be released from his job as Maritzburg United’s assistant coach.

Khenyeza was signed by the club in December as the club’s second-in-command to coach Muhsin Ertugral. However, Ertugral left the club without warning, leaving Khenyeza at the club with new coach Eric Tinkler.

Khenyeza left AmaZulu and retired as a player to take up an assistant coaching role at the KZN side, however, he has since parted ways with the club after four matches on the bench for the Team of Choice.

“There were not any issues, but I felt from my side, that with new blood coming in and trying to implement new ideas to the boys, for the benefit of the team, it was best for me to move on,” Khenyeza told United’s website.
