Laffor unhappy with limited game time at Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns striker Anthony Laffor says being on the bench makes him "emotional."

Laffor, who came on as a substitute in Sundowns’ last game of the season against Bloemfontein Celtic over the weekend, has been linked with a move away from the team.

“It has been great because we have been in the journey for a long time. I am happy that we won this title, but we need to keep our feet on the ground because we still have to play the (Caf) Champions League and we have a game on Wednesday against Barcelona,” Laffor told SuperSport TV after the game.

“I think today [Saturday] it’s time for our supporters and families to celebrate because they have supported us, but we should know that it’s not over yet.

“For me I’m a professional and I’m very much responsible because I know the guys that are playing, I have to support them. I’m happy for those guys out there.

“You know sometimes I get emotional because I know what I can do, but I’m not getting the opportunity. If you look at it, it’s football, you need to support the guys that are playing.

“I’m very supportive and I’m happy because we all win today. We celebrate together as a team and will see what happens, but I’m very happy. Thanks to my family, this is my fifth league title in South Africa.”
