Lebese accuses clubs of making false promises

SuperSport United winger George Lebese says players move from club to club because of promises made to them.

Lebese said clubs needed to keep their promises once they signed the players they desired from rival clubs.

The 29-year-old struggled for game time at Mamelodi Sundowns after joining from Kaizer Chiefs and decided to leave on loan to join United for six months.

This is following Toni Silva’s open letter, in which Lebese was mentioned, directed to Pitso Mosimane accusing the coach of benching players to destroy their careers.

Mosimane responded to Silva’s letter by saying players that got game time had picked the right lifestyle and players shouldn’t leave the club and complain about not getting game time.

Lebese responded to messages on his timeline from supporters asking him which player should have been benched for him to get a chance to play.

“Ok fair enough, no one, guys are doing well but also don’t call us when we at our teams playing and performing lying to us about how we going to play then,” read Lebese’s tweet. “I’m not hating either just stating facts, then again the bench was not the reason I left, but anyway thanks my brother.”
