Lebese ready to fight for his place at Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Lebese has fully recovered from his injury.

The winger has been kept out of action for by injury since December 15 when the Amakhosi faced Bloemfontein Celtic, missing four matches.

Lebese travelled with the team when they faceed Maritzburg United last weekend but did not get a chance to play. The 28-year-old has been replaced by Zimbabwean Edmore Chirambadare as he works his way to full fitness.

“It’s good for the team, and the guys are performing very well,” Lebese said.

“I’m fit now, and the guys are doing well and on a good run of form. So I’ve got to keep fighting to be back into the team.”

“Obviously, we didn’t start well, but we got the momentum at the right time,” added the Mamelodi-born star, who has scored three league goals this season.

“We are still competing for the title,k which is most important now. So long as we see smiles on the supporters … it’s good for us.”
