Mahlangu likens Chiefs’ Nurkovic to Ndlanya

Striker Samir Nurkovic’s form had former Kaizer Chiefs star Jabu Mahlangu wishing he could roll back the years and still play for Amakhosi.

Speaking to Phakaaathi, Mahlangu said likened Nurkovic to ex-Chiefs striker, adding that any footballer would be lucky to play with the lanky Serbian striker.

“Obviously everyone is talking about Nurkovic, he seems to have adjusted well at Chiefs,” Mahlangu told Phakaaathi. “He brought something unique to Chiefs, he is big and is smart.

“He played a part in almost all the goals scored by Chiefs so far. I personally went to watch him play. I always say I would have loved to play with guy in my day. I would move around with the ball and he would he an outlet for and protect the ball, he reminds me of Pollen Ndlanya, we have missed these kind of strikers in South Africa.”

Nurkovic plays as a holding striker and often assists in attack, the Serbian striker has been instrumental in Chiefs’ good start to the 2019/20 season.
