Mangaung Municipality slams PSL after Cup final snub

The Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality has responded to comments made by PSL chairman Irvin Khoza that Bloemfontein, the venue that was preferred by the sponsors for the Nedbank Cup final, could not be secured “because of issues beyond our control”.

While announcing Moses Mabhida Stadium as the host for the final, Khoza said because they were unable to secure a stadium the sponsors preferred in Bloemfontein.

“There was nothing that could have stopped us from hosting this final or it happening in Mangaung because we had the full backing of Executive Mayor Olly Mlamleli‚” Mangaung spokesperson Qondile Khedama told SowetanLIVE.
