Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sipho Mbule is said to be looking at concentrating more on his career and getting back to his best after reports that he arrived at training drunk.

A couple of weeks ago, Mbule was said to have gotten into trouble with the Sundowns technical after he apparently reported for training drunk along with teammate Andile Jali.

It was reported that the pair were suspended by the club after the incident, which shocked many, especially Mbule as he was on his way to getting regular game time at the club.

Now a source close to the Bethlehem-born player says Mbule is someone who has always tried by all means not to be in the media for the wrong reasons and he feels that what transpired has now made him look very bad and that he has disappointed a lot of people.

“It is not nice when you have a lot of people looking up to you and you end up disappointing them. It is not really a nice feeling and Sipho is really upset about that. I don’t want to deny or confirm that the allegations are true, but something happened at the club and that is why he has been out of the team,” said the source.

“All he wants to do now is work really hard and be a regular in the Sundowns team. He knows that he has the talent and he is capable of achieving anything that he wants in football. He has assured everyone that is close to him that he will be working hard now and just concentrate on making sure that he becomes the player that everyone is expecting him to be.”

The source further revealed that Sundowns coaches have spoken to Mbule and they also want to see him becoming one of the best players in the country.

“He has people who are trying to guide him because they care about him. Those people will always make sure that he gets on track, especially at this moment. Another good thing is that the coaches at Sundowns have spoken with him about improving in football and outside football.”
