Truter linked with NFD club after Swallows exit

Truter was relieved of his duties at the Birds following some poor results.

Following his departure from Swallows FC, it seems like Brandon Truter might end up coaching in the GladAfrica Championship, according to a source.

Truter was relieved of his duties at the Birds following some poor results since the start of the season and he has since been replaced by Dylan Kerr.

Truter was key to Swallows earning promotion to the DStv Premiership two seasons ago and has vast experience of campaigning in the National First Division, having also coached Cape Town All Stars.

The source was reluctant to name the team that is eyeing Truter, stating that it is out of respect for the current coach.

“The club has been looking at Trutter since his suspension at Swallows,” the source revealed.

“They knew from back then that it is time the club gets him because they have seen his work with small teams. He knows his way around and the good thing is he is no stranger in the NFD. This is a deal that can happen very soon, because we don’t want to lose him to another club.

“His CV is huge now because of the work he has done with Swallows. I think it’s a matter of sitting down with the current coach and showing him the reasons why he is going to be let go so that there can be a mutual agreement. But before then, they have to speak to Trutter first and make sure that he will be available for the job,” added the source.
