More players to move between Wits and Pirates

Orlando Pirates administrative manager Floyd Mbele has admitted that the club is in talks with Bidvest Wits that could see players moving between the sides.

Earlier today, Pirates announced Xola Mlambo’s signing, but Mbele says he could be the first of many players to move from one Johannesburg club to the other.

“Pirates and Wits are in talks, the problem with the media is they start naming all the players that they like and wish to see join one team or the other. I can’t name the players that Wits and Pirates are discussing but they (Wits) are interested in some of our players and we are interested in some members of their squad as well. When we are done with all the details of the deal with announce,” Mbele told Isolezwe.

As reported by Phakaaathi earlier, the Buccaneers are said to be interested in signing Clever Boys captain Thulani Hlatshwayo, while Wits are believed to be keen on Abbubaker Mobara.

Mobara missed Pirates’ 2-0 victory over Platinum Stars on Saturday afternoon at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium and that has increased speculation that he is headed for Wits.

“Mobara was left out of the 18-man squad because the coach had a different game plan for the game. Thabo Matlaba didn’t play as well, but you don’t ask me about him you only ask about Mobara,” explained Mbele.
