Nkosi hopes for a Pirates return

Striker Ayanda Nkosi says Jomo Sono's confidence in him will be key to him making a return to Orlando Pirates.

Nkosi was loaned out to Jomo Cosmos by Pirates at the beginning of the season. This was after he spent two seasons with the Buccaneers and struggled to break into the starting XI.

“Bra J (Jomo Sono) spoke to the chairman (Irvin Khoza) and asked him to allow me to join his team on loan. To me that was a big thing,” Nkosi is quoted as saying by Isolezwe.

“I feel important, I want to thank Bra J.”

Nkosi admitted that it was difficult for him to sit on the bench and not getting game time at Pirates, but said it was easier dealing with it the second time having gone through it before at Maritzburg United.

“What happened at Pirates made me strong. Luckily it was not something new to me, because I went through it at Maritzburg. You sometimes don’t understand why you are not playing.

“But I still believe I can succeed at Pirates. I will go back and score goals. I need to work hard at Cosmos to show Pirates that they made a mistake by loaning me out.”
