Pirates winger disappointed with Cape Town City draw

There was some sort of energy and determination to win the game against Cape Town City by Orlando Pirates players, unfortunately they had to settle for a draw in a DStv Premiership tie at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday.

Pirates had a pretty good start in the game by scoring early in the match thanks to captain Happy Jele, which obviously put the home side under pressure to go out and search for a goal – which they did find after an unfortunate incident by debutant Olisa Ndah, who had quite a solid game before he was judged to have handled the ball inside the box, giving City the penalty and it was calmly slotted in by Mduduzi Mdantsane in the second half.
But, Bucs shouldn’t really take this result as a bad result, especially having came up against a Cape City team that was high in confidence following their 4-0 walloping of Swallows FC in the second leg of the MTN8 final, while Bucs last game saw them lose 2-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns.
Bucs winger, Vincent Pule had another Sterling performance in his time with the Buccaneers, and he ended up being named the man-of-the-match after game having assisted in the Bucs goals, which made it four assists for him this season in the league.
Pule believes they really deserved to win against the Mother City based outfit.
“I think we played very well, especially in the first half. We had to convert our chances, but we didn’t. They are a very good side, the came back (into the game by equalising) and thy play good football. But I’m a little bit disappointed with the result, I think we were supposed to win the game,” said the winger.
“I would like to dedicate this trophy to the guys, they really fought hard and we played as a team. I had to listen to instructions and the coach said I must help when we defend. All I had to do was Paseka Mako when we defend and when we are on attack I must also join the attackers.”
Pirates have only accumulated nine points in their last six league fixtures, while Cape City have collected six points from five games.
