Pule blow for Pirates, Shonga doubtful for Horoya clash

Pule has been left behind, while Shonga, who is Bucs joint top-goalscorer, has travelled with the squad to Guinea.

Micho Sredojevic was dealt with a major blow ahead of the team’s vital Caf Champions League tie with Horoya AC on Saturday, as Vincent Pule and Justin Shonga both suffered injuries during a training session.

As a result of these injuries, Pule has been left behind, while Shonga, who is Bucs joint top-goalscorer with 11 goals in all competitions, has travelled with the squad to Guinea.

“The team were dealt a major blow on Thursday morning ahead of the trip when Vincent Pule picked up an injury in training. The attacker was subsequently dropped from the travelling party at the last minute,” read a statement on the Bucs website.

“Meanwhile, another injury worry is that of Justin Shonga. The 22-year old has a niggling injury which saw him miss the Thursday training session however, unlike Pule, the Zambian international was included into the travelling squad.”
