Bafana won the game 2-1, but Fifa have since banned Ghanaian referee Joseph Lamptey, who officiated at the game, for “unlawfully influencing match results.”
Lamptey gave Bafana a penalty in the game at the Peter Mokaba Stadium for handball, when the ball clearly struck Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly on his shin.
Fifa also announced in a statement in March that “Further information concerning the South Africa vs Senegal match in question will be provided once the decision (on Lamptey) becomes final and binding.”
“This is not something we can talk about,” said Mumble on Wednesday.
“It is a matter Fifa are dealing with … they have written to us to say they are looking at it, as a courtesy, since then we have not heard anything. This is an issue Fifa need to address.”
There is the possibility that Fifa could order a replay of the match and to the question of whether Safa would protest this, Mumble responded: “We have to cross that bridge when we get to it. I wouldn’t want to speculate now. You need to talk to Fifa.”
