Shonga hopes to emulate Zambian legends

Orlando Pirates forward Justin Shonga says he would like to be as great as some Zambian internationals who have played in the Absa Premiership.

Shonga joins a list of Zambian strikers that have come into the Absa Premiership and became household names in recent years.

Notably Collins Mbesuma who holds a top goal scoring record in the Absa Premiership when he once scored 35 goal in all competitions for Kaizer Chiefs.

“I would like to emulate other Zambian players who have done well at the club such as Perry Mutapa and Isaac Chansa,” said the striker after completing his move to Pirates.

“I look forward to doing great things with the club,” added the player on a short video posted by the club.

Shonga could be available for selection over the weekend when his new side takes on Polokwane City at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday night.
