Zamalek president lashes out at Micho after Cup defeat

Zamalek president Motada Mansour has blamed coach Micho Sredojovic for his side’s Egyptian Super Cup defeat to Al Ahly.

The outspoken president was not happy with his side losing to rivals in the cup final where Micho’s side lost 3-2 to the Red Devils.

Mansour believes the former Orlando Pirates mentor could have selected a better team on match day and approached the game differently.

Micho has already won one trophy with the White Knights since taking over as coach after leaving Pirates.

“We lost due to a mistake in the starting line up,” Mansour told Al Hadath TV.

“If Micho had started the game with the same lineup as the second-half, things would’ve been different. But ‘if’ it is the devil’s work, we can’t use it in football.

“I will have a meeting with him on Saturday to see his point of view and talk with the players,” he added.
