Pirates in hunt for new defenders

Orlando Pirates' defensive problems have forced the club to go search for two defenders to try and bolster their backline.

With the way things have been going, a source at the club has revealed that the coach and management believe there is a need to search for new quality defenders.

“Our backline hasn’t been one of the best this season,” said the source.

“I can tell you now that already there are players whom they are looking to bring into the team. They tried with Tyson (Thulani Hlatshwayo) but things didn’t go accordingly, I am not sure if the players they are looking for will be from the country or outside the country, but what I know is that the club is eager to get defenders,” said the source.

Meanwhile, Pirates are said to be closely monitoring Baroka FC’s central defender, Bonginkosi Makume as they look to fortify their defence which has been a weak link in the team this season.
