WATCH: World Cups done, it’s back to the business of the URC

South African sporting fans can now turn their attention to the United Rugby Championship.

Sadly South African cricket supporters have been plunged into another four-year hangover as the Proteas bravely succumbed to Australia in yet another Cricket World Cup semifinal.

But the discussion this week meanders down another path — there’s season three of the United Rugby Championship to look forward to now. The cross-continental franchise competition has been largely gobbled up by the Rugby and Cricket World Cup tournaments.

South African teams have been on the road for the first segment of the 23/24 competition and experienced mixed fortunes.

Join host Trevor Cramer and senior Citizen Rugby writer Ross Roche for another instalment of your weekly video podcast TALKING POINT.

Ross fends off the tackles from Trevor and counter-attacks armed with his astute knowledge of the game as he hones in on, among other issues, the performance of the SA franchises, the pros and cons of intensive cross-continental travel and reasons why the Sharks, in particular, have lost their teeth.

And…can anyone stop the Indian cricket juggernaut?

Plus…our weekly FLOP and GOLD STAR of the week.
