Caring Friends Therapy Dogs (CFTD), in conjunction with First National Bank, recently donated 400 personalised PPE cloth face masks to the June Nicholls School for Cerebral Palsy, Jeugland and Eventide homes for the elderly.
CFTD have long visited these establishments in order to bring the love and joy of interaction with a trained therapy dog to the people who will most benefit from it. However, the Covid 19 lock-down meant that these valuable visits had to stop.
It was during this hiatus that CFTD received a generous donation from FNB, and decided to pass along their good fortune to the people they had regularly visited. CFTD decided that well made, attractive PPE cloth face masks would prove useful in this financially and emotionally stressful time. Therefore, a portion of the donation from FNB was used to acquire suitable masks, and these were then distributed.
The remainder of the sponsorship was used to acquire internal parasite control for the therapy dogs, thus ensuring that they would be ready when called on for visits once the situation in the country permits this to happen.
The CFTD handlers all expressed a desire to start with the visits again.
“We can not wait to visit all our old friends again,” was the sentiment universally expressed.
Caring Friends Therapy Dogs would like to once more thank First National Bank for their generous sponsorship, and are glad to be able to report on the good that it has enabled.
