ELM urges consumers to make payments directly into new bank account
As of Thursday, 15 July, the old ELM Standard Bank and Absa Bank accounts will be closed.
The Municipal Financial Management Act (MFMA) read with Municipal Supply Chain Management Regulations requires a municipality to renew the tender for primary banking services every five (5) years.
Through a competitive bidding process, First National Bank (FNB) was awarded the tender for the provision of primary banking services for Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM).
In consequence, on Thursday 05th November the municipality notified all consumers of the change of its bank and further advised consumers to use the new banking details to make payments.
As of Thursday, 15 July 2021), the old ELM Standard Bank and Absa Bank accounts will be closed.
Effective immediately, consumers who pay accounts via online/internet banking are requested to update their beneficiary details as follows:
- For payments of utilities such as rates, refuse, water, sewerage and electricity please use:
