Chef Peter, who during his illustrious career held top positions at numerous leading hotels and institutions, has cooked in Europe, the Middle East, the UK and Ireland, Asia and South Africa before dropping anchor in Vereeniging. He served five years as a director on the executive board of the South African Chefs Association (SACA) and was honoured with life membership. He is also a member of the Academy of Chefs, a very special accolade to him.
This highly skilled chef is a genuine family man: His wife Erika and children, Günter and Anja, share his passion for good food. As a devout Christian, he gives all the glory to God for the talent and opportunities he has received over the years. “The name of the restaurant, Footprints, refers to the well-known poem about a double row of footprints in the sand, which becomes a single row when the Lord picks up and carries a person,” says Peter.
