Family shocked by a fire that destroyed their Unitas Park home

A mysterious fire that started on Tuesday morning destroyed a house in Unitas Park.

VEREENIGING – A fire that ravaged a Unitas Park home, destroying almost everything on Tuesday morning has left the family devastated and the community in shock.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster 32-year-old Neo Masenya said he received a call from his neighbors alerting him of the fire.

“My 28-year-old sister Lesego and I have been living together in the house since my mom passed away in 1998. We have a business in Sebokeng, last year we had a fire at our container. We had gone to install windows at the container because they were damaged during a fire that happened in November. While were there, we received a call alerting us of a fire at our home.”

Masenya said he could not exactly point out what the cause of the fire was.
“When we arrived our neighbors had already put the fire out and were assisted by the Midvaal fire brigade.”

The family now needs various building material, clothing and food vouchers. Members of the community who would like to assist the Masenya family can contact Lesego on 079 757 5827 or Neo on 073 285 7228.
