SEDIBENG.- The SAPS Gauteng recently bid farewell to the number one crime fighter in the province, the Gauteng Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Elias Mawela.

His term of office came to an end on Wednesday January 31, and Gauteng members gathered to thank him and his family for lending him to Gauteng communities. This auspicious event was graced by Mawela’s family as the guests of honour, the Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi, the Gauteng MEC for Community Safety Faith Mazibuko (right), Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Community Safety Bandile Masuku, officers from various law enforcement agencies, and senior officials from other government departments.
