MIDVAAL – The Sure Focus Shooting Range in Midvaal hosted the prestigious SA Hunter’s National Multi-Discipline Sport Shooting (MDS) Championships on October 18 and 19, attracting approximately 128 of the nation’s top marksmen.

This two-day event showcased a variety of challenging courses featuring both friendly and hostile targets, as well as moving targets that tested the skills and precision of competitors.

Contestants hailed from across South Africa, each having earned their place in this elite championship through rigorous qualification at branch and regional levels.

Glen Matthews, a course officer, emphasised the high standards required for participation, noting that only the best marksmen receive invitations to compete at this level.

The championships were not only a test of accuracy but also a demonstration of sportsmanship and camaraderie among participants.

Spectators were treated to an exciting display of marksmanship, with many competitors showcasing remarkable agility and focus as they navigated the various courses designed to simulate real-world shooting scenarios.

The event also provided a platform for outdoor clothing and firearm manufacturers to showcase their products to participants and visitors.
