The shopping centre says claims that a child was kidnapped at its premises are false.

De Villiers-Malan added that the mall has robust security measures in place, including 24/7 on-site security personnel, surveillance cameras and close coordination with local law enforcement.
“We strongly discourage sharing unverified information that could cause unnecessary panic within our community. If you have any legitimate concerns or information, please report it immediately to our Center Management Office or the South African Police Service (SAPS), ” De Villiers-Malan said.
“We remain committed to providing all our visitors with a safe and secure environment. Please do not hesitate to contact us directly to prevent false information from circulating,” De Villiers-Malan appealed.
