Crash victim entrapped following collision

VAAL.- On Saturday afternoon, the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT SA) responded to an accident between two utility vehicles.
“One patient with serious injuries was extricated and transported to a nearby medical facility in a stable condition, while another patient with minor injuries was treated on scene.”
Cert SA thanked ER24 EMS (Pty) Ltd., Netcare911, and all other services on the scene for their assistance.
In a separate incident in Zamdela just outside Sasolburg, a man was hit by a vehicle on the R82 near the Mooidraai informal settlement on Saturday at about 18:10, when he attempted to cross the road. He was taken to the hospital, where he succumbed to injuries sustained.
“We understand that the festive season is a time for celebration, but it is also crucial to prioritise safety on the roads. We appeal to all motorists to avoid reckless driving, adhere to speed limits, avoid driving under the influence of alcohol, and take necessary breaks during long trips,” said the Provincial Commissioner of the Police in the Free State, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane.
