Dick Fourie comes alive during Fundamental Private School’s athletics

The spirit of competition prevailed.

VEREENIGING – The Dick Fourie Stadium came alive with vibrant energy on January 24, as Fundamental Private School hosted its inter-house athletics competition under clear, sunny skies.

The hot weather did little to deter the enthusiasm of learners, parents, and staff, who cheered on from the stands.

For probably the first time since 1981, the stadium’s iconic grass track, nestled alongside the Kliprivier in Three Rivers, was used for a school athletics event, adding a nostalgic touch to the day’s proceedings.

Learners, divided into their respective houses, competed fiercely in various events, showcasing athletic talent and team spirit.

Field events also proved thrilling, with impressive performances in the long jump and shot put. Teachers and spectators praised the sportsmanship and camaraderie displayed by participants.
