Illegal shebeens closed down in Sebokeng

Through anonymous tip-offs the police were able to get information and this led to the illegal shebeens to be shut down.

SEBOKENG.- The Sebokeng police recently to shut down over four illegal shebeens in the Sebokeng precinct.

This was after they received anonymous tip-offs regarding their illegal operations.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane, said that in most cases crimes that are related to domestic violence and GBVH related crimes are committed at these illegal shebeens.

“The Acting Station Commander, Colonel Chrizelda Pienaar, took this matter into consideration and deployed both SAPS, Gauteng Traffic Wardens and the Community Policing Forum (CPF) to look into the matter. Through anonymous tip-offs the police were able to get information and this led to over (4) illegal shebeens to be shut down,” Mokhachane said, adding that Colonel Pienaar would like to thank the community members for their vigilance and their contribution in combating crime in Sebokeng
