Transport Month and Festive Season Road Safety Campaign

With a strong focus on road safety, responsible driving, and community well-being, the Transport Month and Festive Season Road Safety Campaign kicked off a season of awareness and action across Gauteng.

EVATON.- Officials from the Gauteng Department of Community Safety Southern Corridor, together with members of the Gauteng Traffic Police and Gauteng Traffic Wardens, joined various stakeholders for the Transport Month and Festive Season Road Safety Campaign at Evaton Mall on Wednesday.

The campaign brought together representatives from Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM), Midvaal Local Municipality (MLM), the Road Traffic Infringement Agency (RTIA), Road Management Systems (RMS), the Department of Health, Taxi Associations, the Road Accident Fund (RAF), Transnet, and SAPS. The department said that the day was aimed at raising awareness about road safety, responsible driving, and pedestrian safety, while also addressing social ills that contribute to accidents and crime during the festive season.
