Fezile Dabi safer festive season roadblock on N1

Police, traffic, and agriculture departments join forces to curb crime, promote compliance, and ensure safer roads.

As part of the Safer Festive Season initiative, the Fezile Dabi District, in partnership with traffic authorities and the Department of Agriculture, conducted a multidisciplinary roadblock on the N1.

According to police spokesperson Sergeant Josephine Rani, the operation aimed to enhance motorist safety and enforce compliance by:

– Searching for stolen property and vehicles

– Identifying undocumented persons and vehicles with suspicious documentation

– Checking for unlicensed firearms and other prohibited items

– Preventing stock theft and verifying livestock documentation

– Verifying vehicle roadworthiness and driver licenses

– Educating drivers on road safety and promoting responsible driving behavior

“We urge all motorists to exercise caution and be responsible when travelling,” Rani said.
