Trail runners to head for the hills at The Vaal Has Hills Trail Run

Get ready to climb, sweat and conquer the Vaal’s wild side.

HEIDELBERG – Trail runners from across the Vaal and beyond will once again head for the hills later this month when The Vaal Has Hills Trail Run returns to Klipskuur on the farm Rietfontein near Heidelberg.

The popular annual event, organised by The Klipspringers– the trail running division of the Vaal Athletic Club – takes place on November 29 and promises a challenging but scenic experience through the region’s rugged terrain.

Runners can choose between three distances:

*25km (start 05:30, entry R350)

*13km (start 06:00, entry R250)

*7.5km (start 06:15, entry R150) Race numbers can be collected on the morning of the event from 04:30, and online entries close on November 28 at 12:00.

Organisers remind 25km participants that there will be a compulsory gear check before the start, and the full gear list can be requested via email at  klipspringers.events@gmail.com.

Prize money will be awarded to the first three male and female finishers in the 25km race, while R10 from every entry will be donated to LifeLine Vaal – a local non-profit organisation that provides counselling and trauma support services.
