Meyerton Knights gear up for 2026 season

Returning players and new talent are invited to step forward as the Knights open training to seniors and under-21 players ahead of the 2026 season.

The Meyerton Knights Rugby Club has officially begun preparations for the 2026 rugby season and is calling on players to be part of the journey from day one.

The Knights will hold their first official practice session of the year next week as the team starts laying the groundwork for the upcoming campaign.

Both senior and under-21 players have been invited to attend as the club looks to build a competitive and committed squad.

“Practice makes perfect, and we’re aiming for perfection,” the club said, adding that early preparation will be key to setting high standards for the season ahead.

The first training session will take place on Tuesday, 13 January, at the Meyerton Sports Club, with players requested to arrive at 18:00 for an 18:30 start. The session forms part of the club’s broader preparations to improve fitness, depth and on-field cohesion ahead of league competition.

The open invitation is aimed at attracting both returning players and newcomers who are eager to commit to structured training and competitive rugby. Young players eligible for the under-21 side are especially encouraged to attend, providing a clear pathway into senior club rugby.

With the countdown to the new season underway, the Meyerton Knights are hoping a strong turnout at the first practice will set the tone for a disciplined and successful 2026.
