Bonang blesses a Twitter follower

Asanda got the shock of her life when Queen B responded to her plea for financial assistance to pay her study fees.

School fees are not getting any cheaper and times are really difficult for graduates who want to finish their education, especially with the “fees must fall” campaign not paying off very nicely.  These days graduates are resorting to desperate measures like standing in the streets at robots asking for cash.

One of Bonang “Queen B” Matheba’s Twitter followers recently took to social media to express her desperation, and to ask the world to help her with her semester fees. The young lady by the name of Asanda took a brave step and jotted down her desperation. “I need R6 110 for my 2nd semester fees by end of July, i don’t have it can someone help,” she wrote.

Unaware of how many would read her post and if anybody would be kind enough to extend a helping hand, Asanda got the shock of her life when Queen B responded. “Hi. Please DM me your details,” Matheba replied to the tweet. “I’m on it,” Asanda responded.

Asanda’s tweet saw her receiving mixed responses on social media, with some people calling her brave and others saying she was just seeking attention and making fun of her plea. “I am happy for you Sis’…your bravery is inspiration,” one tweet read.  “Are you been for real though?” another Twitter user wrote. Asanda responded to the negative tweets. “To those who have taken this opportunity to make jokes about my situation in my mentions may you never need help. Please scroll past rather,” she wrote, adding that she contemplated sending out that tweet for days. “Been sitting on it trying to figure out a plan,” she wrote.

“I am overwhelmed with your responses and RTs, i am grateful for your positive contributions. I will keep you posted on the outcome,” she further wrote, indicating that her family will not believe this, especially because they are not on Twitter.

All the best Asanda!
