WATCH: #TBT When Bonang was so impressed by Somizi she went on a rant

In the episode, Bonang had just finished watching Somizi perform as his alter ego, Madame Gigi, on stage. Dressed in a bright green sequinned jumpsuit, Somizi was the opening act at a concert in Johannesburg.

Bonang watched Somizi perform together with her makeup artist at the time, Nthatho Mashisi, and after the performance, she gushes about how great an entertainer Somizi is.

Somizi and Bonang are no longer best friends, and are currently embroiled in a legal battle. The Idols judge has ordered Bonang to remove his name from her book after she published the details behind their fallout.

Bonang has since responded saying that she had a right to tell her story from her personal perspective.
