Mama Jackie demands an apology from Amanda du-Pont and Masechaba Khumalo

Jub Jub's mother, Jackie Maarohanye, known as Mama Jackie, is taking legal action against both women.

Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye’s mother, Jackie Maarohanye, known as Mama Jackie, has come out to defend herself from allegations made by Amanda du-Pont and Masechaba Khumalo.

Mama Jackie’s name came up after Du-Pont made several allegations against her son, including that of rape, during her impassioned Instagram video responding to Jub Jub’s claims.

Du-Pont claimed that the businesswoman siphoned money from a trust in which Oprah Winfrey had donated over a million dollars. She also made several claims of gender-based violence against Jub Jub during their two-year relationship.

TimesLIVE reported that Mama Jackie has sent a legal letter to Du-Pont demanding an apology.

In the legal letter from BDK Attorneys, which has been seen by the publication, Mama Jackie denied the claims and alleged they were, “purposely misguiding members of the public by stating and/or implying that our client is a criminal, our client was involved in unsavoury and fraudulent dealings with Oprah, that our client has some hold over her son and that our client practises with muti.”

Mama Jackie states she was not involved in Amanda and Jub Jub’s relationship nor does she deal with umuthi (witchcraft).

The controversial businesswoman also has an issue with Masechaba after she claimed she was assaulted by Jub Jub at her Naturena home.

She denied the allegation and is demanding that both women apologise, remove their social media posts and retract their statements.

Mama Jackie’s legal team said if the demands are not met in the next 48 hours, they will approach the high court.

Her legal team did touch on a voice note that was leaked and reported by some publications.

In it, she claims that Du-Pont informed her she was pregnant with twins and that the actress should be the last person to comment on people’s past because she has her own skeletons.

“She had sent that voice note on a private group and gave no permission for it to be distributed. She will also be taking legal action against the person who published the voice note,” the legal letter concluded.
