‘A miracle’- Rachel Kolisi and kids celebrate World Cup win with Siya

Rachel and the kids will on Sunday leave France to return "home" to SA.

Rachel Kolisi has reflected on the “miracle” that accompanied her hubby, Springbok captain Siya Kolisi, leading SA to Rugby World Cup victory.

The Springboks edged New Zealand’s All Blacks 12-11 in an incredible and tense final at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis. It was a record fourth Webb Ellis Cup for South Africa, and the second for Siya as captain. He is only the second player in history to lead his side to consecutive World Cup victories, after New Zealand’s Richie McCaw.

Siya took to the field with his family during the celebration, posing for pictures with them and the trophy. Sharing a snap of the moment, Rachel described the win as “a miracle” and thanked Jesus.

Rachel and the kids will on Sunday leave France to return “home” to SA.

Stars and friends Minnie Dlamini, Zenande Mfenyana, Nandi Madida, and Anele Mdoda joined in the celebrations and congratulated the Kolisi family on the victory.

Rachel had earlier posted a message of encouragement to the team, sharing a picture of the family and the quote: “Can you imagine, with all the faith in the room, what the Lord can do?”

She also said we are “living in the days of miracles”

A family reunited

Earlier this week, Rachel shared an emotional video of Siya’s half siblings, Liyema and Liphelo, arriving in France ahead of the final.

The video showed Nicholas Siyamthanda (8) and Keziah’s (6)’s surprise as they saw Liyema and Liphelo.

“My heart hasn’t felt so full in months. Can’t begin to explain how rough it’s been being halfway across the world. Just so grateful,” Rachel wrote of the moment.

Speaking of his and Rachel’s decision to adopt his siblings, Siya told The Guardian it took over a year.

“My little sister didn’t know me. She had been crawling when I last saw her. I told the woman taking care of them that I was going to take them for the December holidays that year, which I did. But afterward, I said I can’t send them back.

“I had to go through a legal process, which I started after that holiday. It took about 18 months, but I finally legally adopted them.”
