Luthuli Dlamini is now his own boss

Since being fired by Generations boss Mfundi Vundla, Luthuli Dlamini, who played Scott on the popular soapie, has focused on his own movie.

Speaking from the film set in East London, he said: “I’m not allowed to say a lot about Generations at the moment.

“I really loved playing Scott, but right now I am putting all my energy into a movie which I am currently producing. For the first time in my life, I get to be the executive producer of my own movie.”

Fellow Generations actor Katlego Danke will feature in the movie along with Scandal actors Wandile Molebatsi and Gabisile Legodi.

“The movie is titled 360 Degrees and has been in the pipeline for a long time, but we only started shooting about a month ago,” said Dlamini.

The Zimbabwean-born actor was sacked from Generations after he allegedly did not call in when he was sick in December.

Then when he arrived on set a few days later, he was shocked to find he had been written out of the story-line without any prior warning or a discussion with Vundla.

Not long after that, Dlamini headed to East London to work on his film.

Asked if he would be doing more behind the scenes work this year, he said: “Being behind the camera has been a great opportunity for me to tell the story that I want to tell.

“But I am an actor. I love acting so I will continue to seek acting opportunities and I will make myself available to anyone who will have me.”

While Vundla wouldn’t go into details about the saga that saw Dlamini leave Generations, he did confirm that Luthuli’s contract had been terminated.
