SEE: Melinda Bam shares first snaps of her newborn

Melinda Bam and Adriaan Bergh's son, Ruach Michal Bergh was born in March sometime.


Former Miss South Africa Melinda Bam and her husband, former Mr South Africa Adriaan Bergh welcomed their baby boy earlier this week.

The former beauty pageant title carrier said ‘I do’ in November 2014 at Oakfield Farm in Muldersdrift, Gauteng.

Bam shared the happy news of her pregnancy in October 2022, with a heartfelt Instagram post.

“When the desires of our hearts, God’s will, and God’s timing aligns perfectly – earth shakes, light rushes in and the heavens rejoice!

Thank you, Jesus.

“Behold, children are a heritage and gift from the LORD, The fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth. Psalms 127:3-4,” the television presenter said on Instagram when she announced her pregnancy.

The new parents, who faced some difficulties to conceive, shared every step of their journey to becoming parents with their friends and followers on social media.

Details about the exact date of their son, Ruach Michal Bergh’s birth hasn’t been shared yet, but Melinda did take to Instagram on 1 April, to share a black and white photo of her son curling his little hand around her thumb.

“But this… this is something more, it’s something holy – sacred, … this is love. Yes, we’ve gone into hiding the last three weeks. We wanted to drink in every moment and view it through our awe-struck teary eyes.

“It really has been a sacred time. We’ll let you in soon,” she captioned her post.

The new mom shared a second picture of her son on Tuesday. The former beauty queen is seen sitting in a chair outside as the sun sets behind her, cradling her newborn son in her arms as she lovingly looks down at him.  

Friends and fans, including the likes of The Honeymoon actress Minnie Dlamini, former Miss World Rolene Strauss and former Miss SA Liesl Laurie streamed to the comment section to congratulate the new parents.
