KO’s fans finally came through for him. The rapper walked away with the KIA Record of the Year award and in total collected three statues after leaving empty-handed at every other award event so far this year.
The fashion didn’t disappoint either – viewers saw many hits and misses. Unfortunately, the same could not be said about the production. The public, however, was not pleased with anything. The sound quality left much to be desired, with fluctuations in audibility left many guessing what was being said.
Viewers were treated to snippets of conversations they shouldn’t have, such as when Kabelo Mabalane asked if they could play KO’s song after he came up to accept his award. By the way, why did they not play his song? If we didn’t know any better, we’d say the sound guys were sleeping.
HHP as host of SAMA XXI was a disaster. Viewers were expecting a punchy, captivating entertainer, but all we got was an exhausted, out-of-breath presenter.
He was not funny at all, even though he tried to draw the audience in with his upper cut jokes. At one point, the crowd was apparently heard booing. Should we even mention that DJ Sbu jibe.
We still love you Jabba, and we’ll still be sipping on a cold Fanta pine, Ka bo … sunset till the sun gon’ shine with you, but not at the SAMAs.
Here are people’s reactions to his presenting skills:

Penny Lebyane vented about the lack of SAMA XXI presenting skills.
Lebyane lashed out at a certain presenter for her inadequate way of interviewing the winners at last night’s SAMAs.
Here is what she said:
Why do ppl always to try get personal wt AKA from baby names to calling him by his ID name really….#SAMAXXI
— PennyLebyane💚PennyLebyaneDotAfrica (@PennyLebyane) April 19, 2015
How do u compare a Radio Station's Awards and a Recording Industry Awards really? Do ppl understand the difference of the 2. #SAMAXXI
— PennyLebyane💚PennyLebyaneDotAfrica (@PennyLebyane) April 19, 2015

Lerato Kganyago, who was presenting in the green room and speaking to the winners, had this to say about ‘shade’ being thrown her way.
I've come a long way, "shades" from peers mean NOTHING to me, giving me constructive criticism, to help me grow, now thats GROWN UP stuff!😊
— leratokganyago (@Leratokganyago) April 19, 2015
Thank God for that, NEVER in a million years would I want to be someone else…the sooner you get THAT, the better!😊 https://t.co/ae6fDnR7aC

We also found a bit more on Twitter last night:
After kwaito singer L’vovo sang a song about it being ‘Ke December boss!’
