Connie Ferguson is back on ‘The Queen’ this week

After a short absence since the passing of her husband Shona Ferguson, Connie Ferguson returns as Harriet Khoza on 'The Queen' this week.

Connie Ferguson’s return to Mzansi Magic telenovela, The Queen, is highly anticipated and the co-founder of Ferguson Films has given a sneak peek of what we can expect.

Earlier this month, Connie’s return on set was met with much fanfare after the passing of her husband Shona Ferguson at the end of July.

Connie plays Harriet Khoza, matriarch of her family and at the centre of many storylines on The Queen.

The new season introduced a storyline that saw previous arch-enemies Harriet and Hector (Rapulana Seiphemo) start to fall in love with each other.

This storyline continues with her family members suspicious of the timing of her return, with Brutus (Themba Ndaba) concerned that she is hiding something.

Connie has continued to keep her husband’s legacy alive, with Ferguson Films social media account and her using the hashtag #TheShoGoesOn by promoting new episodes of The Queen and other series.

Not only was he a massive loss to the industry, Connie has shared how much she misses the love of her life, by posting pictures and videos of their precious moments.

“I miss you. I miss your random visits to set. I miss you deliberately trying to annoy me. I miss you crushing on me all the time. I just miss you so much! I love you forever,” she has written.

Another beautiful memory she’s keeping alive is their “Carpet Sunday”. This entails sending out biblical messages to their followers.

This past Sunday, Connie quoted Matthew 19 verse 14, as she read the Bible verse with her grandson, Ronewa Malema.

“Jesus said, ‘Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these’,” it reads.
