Past winner Zozibini Tunzi to co-host Miss SA 2021 beauty pageant

Zozibini and Catriona will share the Miss South Africa 2021 stage this year as backstage presenters of the live broadcast of the event.

The 2019 Miss Universe titleholder, Zozibini Tunzi, will be a backstage presenter at the Miss South Africa pageant this year alongside the 2018 Miss Universe winner, Catriona Gray.

The Miss SA 2021 beauty pageant finale is on 16 October 2021, at the Grand Arena, in Cape Town. The winning contestant will be crowned Miss SA 2021 on the day.

Catriona, the Filipino-American beauty queen, will not be visiting South Africa for the first time, as she was part of the Miss SA 2019 judging panel when Zozi was crowned the winner. Zozi then went on to inherit Gray’s Miss Universe crown a few months later.

At the Miss World beauty pageant, she placed in the top five, and then went on to bag the Miss Universe title two years later.

Catriona will host the pageant’s exclusive pre-show, which will be available online on the misssa.live website to subscribers from around the globe.

Zozi has expressed how excited she is to be a presenter at this year’s beauty pageant and is thrilled to be working alongside her friend Catriona.

“It’s such a full-circle moment for me because I started on the stage as a contestant, to being a judge and now to backstage hosting. I will have touched and experienced every aspect of the show. That to me is very special.

“I love Catriona. Not only did she crown me for Miss Universe, but she was there for the beginning of my journey as she was a judge for Miss SA 2019 when I won. There’s a special connection there and I can’t wait to share the platform with her,” said the former Miss SA winner.

The Miss South Africa 2021 beauty pageant will be screened live from 5pm on M-Net (DStv Channel 101) and Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161), and will also be streamed online for an international audience on MissSA.live with extra highlights and exclusive content.
