‘I love young women’ sends chills during ‘Mnakwethu’ reunion

Jaws dropped on 'Mnakwethu' reunion part two when one of the husbands admitted he likes young women because they don't challenge him.

If you haven’t reached your breaking point watching Mnakwethu reunion season two, you are not the only one.

The show trended once again on Tuesday evening after part two aired.

Part one of Mnakwethu reunion left viewers wanting more after the first wives stood up for themselves against the second wives.

The show is hosted by Musa Mseleku, who advises men on Isithembu (polygamy) protocols. The reunion is lead by Linda Sibiya, who also did not hold back in asking the tough questions for the wives.

The biggest talking point was husband Gezani Dludla’s household. His first wife MaCele said it has not been easy since MaMkhize came into the picture.

Both are young women, not yet 21 years old. They were clearly uncomfortable sharing differences on national TV.

MaMkhize says MaCele hasn’t welcomed her at all, claiming the first wife has called and texted her saying she must stay away from her husband.

Dludla did not do himself any justice by revealing he chooses to date young women because they won’t challenge him or give him any problems. When pressed by Sibiya if he lays hands on them, he admitted he does.

Audiences were disturbed by the revelations including that the second wife is four months pregnant. It was also disclosed by Dludla that MaCele secretly took his phone and texted MaMkhize telling her that it was over between them.

Mseleku was not pleased with Dludla’s confession about liking young women. He said this adds to the stereotype that polygamist men are very patriarchial.

Mseleku added that in isithembu, men should not pick women who cannot challenge them but rather they need strong outspoken women who can build a strong home and challenge their husbands when they need to.

Despite the drama, there was a bit of reconciliation in some households.

MaKhumalo expressed how unhappy she was that second wife Mam’Mthombeni was sleeping in her bed in the previous episode.

Thembelani Mchunu was questioned over why he didn’t buy his second wife a house, saying he was going to do so once the money came.

Mam’Mthombeni also apologised for sleeping and sharing the same bed with Mchunu.

MaShelembe’s showdown with her husband airs next week.
