Bombay Sapphire celebrates International Gin & Tonic Day in style

By Lineo Lesemane

Bombay Sapphire turned International Gin & Tonic Day into a creative exploration.

To celebrate this special day, the alcohol brand hosted the ‘SAW THIS, MADE THIS’ Gin Route, a cocktail creativity event that started on Thursday, 19 October, and wrapped on Saturday, 21 October.

This concept was inspired by the global ‘Saw This, Made This’ campaign launched earlier this year in New York and London, a partnership between Bombay Sapphire and world-renowned film director and creative visionary, Baz Luhrmann.

Celebrating International Gin & Tonic Day with Bombay Sapphire

I was amongst the guests who attended the event on Thursday. MCeed by Lesego Legobane aka Thickleeyonce, the event kicked off in Rosebank at the Benchwarmers Sports Bar. We enjoyed a blood orange-inspired Gin & Tonic while viewing the artwork Tangerine Dream by Francesco Mbele.

We were then shuttled to Randburg, where we indulged in a mouth-watering dinner while viewing the Awakening Garden artwork by artist Sonia Tona and sipping on a vanilla-inspired Sleeping Beauty Gin &Tonic at Mother in Law restaurant.

Our final destination was at The Royale in Craighall Park. We enjoyed the Summer Splash inspired by Nadine Cerff’s artwork, a delicious mix of BOMBAY SAPPHIRE, tonic, lime, and Rose and Elderflower.
