WATCH: Local designer’s collaborative fashion film the perfect lockdown escapism

Craving escapism?

Look no further than local brand Klipa Denim’s new fashion film.

Produced by Cars.co.za and shot by And. agency’s Robert Dos Santos, the short clip encapsulates the yearning of freedom sought by young South Africans, with stunning cinematography, a soothing soundtrack, and a really nice car.

And with residents confined to their homes during lockdown, these entrancing visuals could not have come at a better time.

The fashion film saw Klipa Denim partner with Mercedes-Benz to illustrate their brand and their story.

The brainchild of local designer Carlo Gibson, Klipa, slang for hundred, was launched in 2015, and aims to offer a unique South African fashion identity.

Gibson noticed that for such a unique country, the ‘rainbow nation’ did not have its own fashion identity, opting instead to mix international Western fashion styles. This sparked the idea to establish an all-local team of seamstresses and material suppliers to create high-quality urban design clothing that is representative of South Africa’s melting pot of cultures.

This has worked in Klipa’s favour, with the brand having the ability to collaborate easily with creatives, as exhibited in their latest fashion film.

For some escapism while watching a handsome man wear nice clothes, ride a horse barefoot and drive a striking vehicle, take a look below:
