Kelly Khumalo demands justice for late Senzo Meyiwa

She has appealed to Police Minister Bheki Cele to help bring the case of her late boyfriend to an end and let the law take its course.

The Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper was shot and killed during an alleged armed robbery at Khumalo’s mother’s house in Vosloorus in October 2014.

The police are yet to arrest any suspects for his murder, despite promises by Cele to bring the criminals to book.

“The matter of my daughter’s father needs to be put to an end. It’s been six years. I have become a victim of this matter for many years and I am tired,” said Khumalo on her Instagram account while appearing to promote an alcohol brand, Controversy Gin.

“I am going to speak. I am no longer afraid of speaking. Someone in charge is not doing anything. I have written to the department of police. No one is bothering to answer me to even say, ‘Kelly, we are doing something about this.’

“It’s easy for them to shut up because they don’t have to live a day in my shoes. I have a country that hates me. I have a country that swears at me every day.

“I have to deal with this. Do I deserve this? No, I don’t. Again, as a woman, the law in this country is failing me, the system in this country is failing me,” continued Khumalo.

“When is someone in charge going to do their job and find the criminals and put them behind bars? Because this really is exhausting.

“No one is doing anything. They go to TV: ‘We are going to bring the criminals to justice’. Six years later, no justice, but I am the one who is suffering day in and day out.

“I am the one taking insults from everyone and I don’t blame them because someone at some point has to be held accountable, and at this point in time it’s me and I don’t deserve it.”

Meanwhile, AfriForum announced late last year that they were taking over the investigation of Meyiwa, but no suspects have been charged yet regarding the matter.
