There will be no Daily Lotto, Lotto, Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2 draws on Saturday, Christmas day, the National Lottery has announced
“Kindly take note of our operating hours during the festive season: 25 December 2021 – All branches and call centre will be closed and no draws will take place on 26, 27 December 2021 and 1 January 2022 – All branches will be closed however the call centre will operate until 11 pm,” said the National Lottery in a statement.
The next Lotto draw will take place on Wednesday 29 December 2021.
This as National Lottery celebrates a Daily Lotto jackpot winner of R426,489.20. The winner is from the Tuesday, 21 December, draw.
The winning ticket was purchased in Rocklands, Bloemfontein, Free State, and the winner spent R6 on a quick pick selection wager.
Earlier this month, the National Lottery has called on people to check their tickets as a R14 million Lotto Plus 2 prize had been won but not yet claimed.
This call came in light of an Ekurhuleni man walking away with the R63 million jackpot the previous week.
He bought his ticket just hours before the draw, with a wager of R100 using the quick-pick selection.
After almost misplacing his ticket, he decided to keep it in his cupboard for safety.
“Since playing from 2013, I would normally use a combination of my lucky numbers, whether its family birth dates or my children’s age,” said the 38-year-old, who works at a gas company.
“Today is our day, it has finally come, and we are unable to express our emotions because the news of winning is so surreal,” added his wife of seven years.
“We have lived with our extended family for many years until we decided to move out and rent a house in the same neighbourhood. Now we have an opportunity to buy our own home,” said the winner.
