Wine and dine in aid of Hospice White River

Wine on Wheels, in conjunction with Longridge Wine Estate, recently supported Hospice White River for a wine evening at 64 Coolmore.

Community members came together for an evening of wine, food and laughter on March 7, all in aid of the hospice.

According to the manager of Hospice White River, Terran Gericke, the organisation approached Carl and Megan van der Merwe of 64 Coolmore at the beginning of this year to see if they would be interested in organising an event in aid of hospice, to raise funds and awareness.

“The Van der Merwes jumped at the idea of being able to help the community, and before we knew it, they had Wine on Wheels in conjunction with Longridge Wine Estate on board,” said Gericke.

Wine on Wheels said it brought a wine portfolio consisting of household favourites and exceptional boutique brands to the Lowveld, and Longridge prided itself on being both sustainable and eco-friendly.

Gericke said the night was filled with many smiles, accompanied by all the stories of the wine estate and how it came to be the leader in sustainable wine farming it is today.

“Thank you to all that came in support of Hospice White River and we look forward to seeing every one very soon.”
