King Thulare III Charity Golf played for a worthy cause
The foundation appreciated the support from all sponsors, players, corporate leaders and community leaders that honoured the annual event.
More than 70 golfers gathered at the Tubatse Chrome Golf Club in Steelpoort on Friday, September 4, for the second annual King Thulare III Charity Golf Day.
Hosted by the Gladcon Africa Foundation in partnership with the office of Her Majesty, Queen Manyaku Thulare Leganabatho II of the Bapedi Kingship, the tournament is one of the biggest on the Sekhukhune sports calendar.

Her Majesty attended the event alongside Limpopo MEC for sport, arts and culture Bella Kupa-Mabuza.
The first group of golfers teed off from 07:00, with the second group getting started at 12:00.
Amateur, experienced and young golfers all participated.
Gala dinner and charity goals
Following the tournament, a gala dinner was held at the Thaba Moshate Hotel in Burgersfort.
“This year’s event was much bigger. It was a great sporting day filled with love and prosperity. Various sponsors, local businesses and local mines honoured these two events, and several services like spa services were available at the event,” said organiser Nelson Ratau.
The aim of the King Thulare III Charity Golf Day and gala dinner is to raise funds for the development of computer labs within disadvantaged communities.

Ratau emphasised that giving rural learners access to technology is vital for preparing them for modern tertiary education, employment and entrepreneurship.

“We are running a pilot project with Shorwane Secondary School from Ga-Maepa to bridge illiteracy levels within remote areas of South Africa,” added Ratau. “We are engaging all forms of sponsors within and outside Mzansi to assist in ensuring the objective is achieved and that it makes a meaningful impact in society.”

The event brought together stakeholders, sponsors, corporate leaders and community leaders in support of a worthy cause, demonstrating the power of partnership, sport and philanthropy in making a meaningful difference in communities.
