Local takes own initiative by donating blankets

BURGERSFORT – The Taung community experienced harsh winds this past weekend which demolished their shacks and self-structured houses, leaving them without proper shelter.

Jackson Pay Tjatjii, chairman of Sanco Tubatse subregion and Marole ANC Ward 18, witnessed this terrible ordeal and decided to take it upon himself to assist the community by donating 40 blankets at a cost of R16 000.

“As the chairman of Sanco, I ask opposition parties to assist communities in need and encourage them to take care of citizens who are facing poverty and not only expecting their votes at election time. As the leaders it is our responsibility to assist them,” he concluded.
