Bikers descend on Mbombela Stadium to help others
Trompies Matsane, event organiser, said bikers can expect ear-shattering revving to reverberate up and down the streets of Mbombela.

It is that time again, when motorcycle enthusiasts from Umjindi and Mbombela’s surrounding areas descend on Mbombela Stadium for the first bikers’ rally of the year. One that is organised by the Sun Riders Motorcycle Club. The event will take place next weekend, from June 3 to 4.
Trompies Matsane, event organiser, said bikers can expect ear-shattering revving to reverberate up and down the streets of Mbombela. “We are calling people from all corners of the province to support this initiative. “Being a non-profit organisation ourselves, some proceeds made during the event will be channelled to aid the underprivileged,” said Matsane.
He said, as the cold of winter is already felt in some parts of the country, they will use some of the funds from the event to purchase 50 blankets to warm identified families in the Mataffin area, adjacent to the stadium.
Artists expected to perform at the event include Barberton-based, DJ Shabbisto, and Willie De Voice will be master of ceremonies. Both of which are from Ligwalagwala FM. The list will also include the likes of Madumane, Sdunkero, Black Motion, Velli Vega, Les Boroto, Pyed Pyper, Tajmahal, Cassius, Kleinkie and Trevor Dee.
“This will be an event for the whole family. “In addition to the entertainment by artists and bikers, the people will have a choice of food and drinks from stalls and the beer gardens that we will be provided. There will also be mass ride bikers’ competition,” added Matsane.
To attend both events, the pre-party on Friday and the main event on Saturday, will cost R150 per adult, which will also include a badge for cars and bikes. Entrance for children under 12 will be R50. The gates open at 10:00 on Saturday.
